What Does a Legal Assistant Do?

As a legal assistant at Geiger Legal Group, you will be the assisting the attorneys and paralegals in all the practice areas at our firm. This will include speaking with new and potential personal injury clients, assisting in management of files in the firms practice management software, helping communicate with relators and lenders for the firms residential and commercial real estate practice, answering phones, assisting with pre-closing and post-closing real estate transactions, and presenting a great face for the firm.

Key Responsibilities for this Legal Assistant Position Include:

Building a relationship and trust with our clients. You are helping people through many stages of life, including after they have suffered a serious injury, when they are purchasing a new home, or obtaining a business loan. Our clients need to know you have their best interest at heart.
Setting up claims with liability insurance carriers, underinsured motorist carriers, and medical payment coverage.
Ordering and collecting medical records and bills that are necessary to support the client’s case.
Answering phones and routing calls to the proper person.
Assisting with pre-closing and post-closing real estate transactions.
Going the extra mile as needed. We are NOT a firm where one person is too big for any task. If something needs to be done to help the team, it is expected that you do it.
